Mica powder is an excellent colouring alternative for your soapmaking. We have a large variety of mica powder colours to choose from. Our mica powders are ethically sourced, cruelty free, not tested on animals and do not come from mines where children are workers. How much mica powder should I add to my soap? For a solid colour you should add 0.5- 1 gram of mica powder to 100g of soap batter. This should create a strong colour in your soap without coloured lather. If you want a lighter pastel shade reduce the mica powder to 0.25 grams of mica to 100g of soap batter. When starting out remember to add your mica gradually until you achieve the desired shade.

How do I mix the mica powder into my oils? You can also add mica powder directly to your oils. It is recommended to do this at a rate of 1/2 tsp -2 tsp approximately per pound/450g of oil.
